Oversee the engineering effort of major R&D projects and provide future looking technical guidance to the engineers in the group. The Principal Software Engineer writes code to deliver new features and functionality as well as improve existing features and functionality.

Essential Job Functions:
Works independently to design and implement solutions for projects of high complexity.

Engineer new code, and work with/enhance an existing code base. Review all the design and code with peers.

Write well-commented code in accordance with product requirements

Actively contribute to the ongoing software design and development process of the group.

Track technical innovations both within and outside of the industry. Make timely recommendations on their applicability to projects.

Work with teams across multiple continents/time zones.

Lead the development of new/innovative game play features and functionality

Maintain up to date knowledge on new programming methods and technologies

Work with engineers in other departments to create system-wide solutions.

Provide technical expertise and advice to engineers and mentor junior team members

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

Required Experience:
Min 7 years C/C++ development experience that demonstrates an understanding and usage of object oriented programming techniques, solid-coding techniques, documentation, and managing the overall technical integrity of a code-base including portability, extensibility, and testability

Two to Three years as a Lead Software Engineer in a software development environment or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in Complex Systems Software Development.

Experience with a compiler/development-environment and tools.

Systems Level Development experience in Linux/Unix/Windows.

Experience with source-code control software: CVS, ClearCase, etc.

Experienced in debugging, optimization, and profiling tools and techniques including debuggers, simulators, and emulators.

Experience with open source desirable.

Experience with C# programming

A strong understanding and applicable experience in the following knowledge areas: -Network Protocols (TCP/IP) -Tools Building -Wireless Communications -Network and Software Security

Project Management skills a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proven ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.

Proven ability to work in deadline driven environment, and respond creatively to pressure.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent trouble-shooting skills.

Knowledge and experience with embedded development environments.
