We currently have a position opening for a Supervisor, Print Investment to work out of our downtown New York office.
This role will report to the Associate Director, Print Investment and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Print Investment team. The Supervisor will act as the liaison between the media community, planning groups and the clients to ensure that client print plans are developed, negotiated and implemented to meet the established objectives. This role will also oversee all print performance and maintenance for respective accounts thereof and manage and train Analyst(s) and Assistant Analyst(s).
Other responsibilities for this role will include but not be limited to:
Management:
Manage solid media, planning and client relationships
Supervise the Analyst and Assistant Analyst on all day-to-day activities
Develop buy highlights presentations and present to clients.
Train Analyst(s) and Assistant Analyst(s) in all aspects of print buying (RFP development and analyses, strategies and tactics, negotiating, and maintenance), as well as the client(s) business and industry
Interview applicants for junior-level positions
Strategy and Plan Development:
Develop strategies and tactics based on changing conditions in the marketplace for all aspects of print media
Develop planning costs
Advise client(s) of all fluctuations in the marketplace
Participate in Checkmate sessions:
Understand – provide insights into consumers, brand, product and media
Design – identify behaviors, barriers, drivers and apertures; develop communication strategies
Create – create specific tangible executional ideas
Capitalize – bring activity schedule to life; encompass negotiation strategies and implementation of the buy
Coordinate efforts with the Strategy team(s)
Evaluate media opportunities and make proper recommendations
Seek out new and innovative media opportunities which can benefit client(s)
Ensure integration and coordination between a client’s various communications programs
Negotiation:
Assist the Associate Director and Director/Group Director with major publishing house negotiations
Conduct brand negotiations as directed by the Associate Director and Director/Group Director
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree and/or a minimum of 4 years of experience in the media industry in traditional planning. He/She must have experience on packaged good and/or retail accounts and has worked with major publishers (Hearst, Time Inc, Conde Nast, Meredith, etc). Essentially, the candidate must possess the ability to manage day-to-day functions of the Print Investment team and have strong knowledge of research buying systems and marketplace intelligence.
