This position has direct responsibility for two manufacturing facilities in New Philadelphia, OH and Wellsburg, WV. The locations are approximately a forty-five (45) minutes drive from one another. Both facilities are a proud part of Graphic Packaging's Flexible Multi-Wall Bag division.
MISSION / SUMMARY:
Expert in the area of Flexo Printing who offers guidance and direction in regard to all printing processes for two Multi-Wall Bag manufacturing operations; New Philadelphia, OH and Wellsburg, WV. They provide supervision, training and development for direct reports and others. The Printing Manager is responsible for safety, quality, productivity, equipment condition, and housekeeping for the entire printing, ink, plate and graphic areas. They understand and align all business operations with Printing initiatives as he/she executes their role in the overall printing process to meet or exceed expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
Supports a safe and engaging culture
Manages and maintains a safe work environment
- Directly responsible for all Printing Department functions
Provides expert guidance and direction in the Flexo Printing process
Monitors and consistently works toward process improvement and high quality results
- Provides technical expertise in problem resolution and product development
Involved in recruiting selection process, performance reviews, and all measures of progressive discipline
- Manages and facilitates the long and short term goals of the department including efficiencies
- Creates Press schedule, oversees material handling and maintenance
- Collaborates with other department managers and offers solutions for production problems
- Responsible for performance management and employee capability development
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
10 or more years of progressive printing management experience required
Flexo Printing experience required
Lean-Six Sigma manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Union labor relations experience strongly preferred
Inventory and raw material consumption
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
Undergraduate Degree in related field
Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree
Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts preferred
Strong knowledge of Labor Relations and Supervision
Strong Microsoft Office knowledge with emphasis on Word & Excel
Strong interpersonal leadership skills and ability to motivate people
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a changing environment
Technical and problem solving
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be quality conscious and customer oriented
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
High level of learning agility
General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
