Equipment Technician - Probe

Job Summary:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated PROBE EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN to become part of our state of the art 300mm factory. The individual will be asked to sustain, ramp and transfer technologies at Fab 8 and from our other sites (Fab 1 in Dresden, Germany and Fab 7 in Singapore) as well as our alliance partners in East Fishkill. This position will be located at GLOBALFOUNDRIES in Malta, New York, and report to the Fab8 Area Module Manager with the primary responsibility of installing new tools, working with the supplier on equipment issues and upgrades and supporting the manufacturing floor.

Specific Responsibilities:
In your role as Equipment Technician you are responsible to support the Fab8 PROBE operations team. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to:
• Support equipment planning, equipment selection and configuration with the area product, equipment and yield engineers
• Support installation, start up and volume ramp for all respective semiconductor probe equipment
• Strong focus on keeping timelines and cost/budget control
• Support equipment hookup and subsequent control
• Support the equipment budget, cost model
• Work in close collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing
• Establishment of the equipment technician and maintenance related business processes, necessary to run the tools in production, as well as their documentation according to quality standards
• Develop and train other equipment technicians. Create materials and perform training of technicians working on tools in the area
• Ensure close interaction with equipment suppliers. Supplier management – own escalation of issues
• Advanced trouble shooting of probe tool issues
• Support Equipment performance KPIs, monitoring and adjustment according to fab goals
• After equipment start up / ramp up support for all daily equipment technician tasks including performance tracking, continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
• Support continuous knowledge exchange on best known methods and improvement levers with Fab 1 and Fab 7 technicians and engineers. Translate changes in other factories to improvement actions within current fab
Required Qualifications:
• Technical AS or equivalent degree with a minimum of 3 years equipment technician experience on relevant equipment (i.e., Rudolph, ITS, TEL, Accretech)
• Minimum 10 years job experience in semiconductor manufacturing and logistics
• Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self starter
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a global matrixed team or environment
• Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
• Strong continuous improvement mindset, permanently driving to identify and eliminate waste and errors in business processes, work procedures and instructions, work organization
• Capture complex situations very fast, react accordingly and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies
• Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs
• Ability to support internal and external CIP projects and aggressive cost reduction roadmaps
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
• Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per day shift schedule
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements
• Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 12 hour per day shift (excluding breaks)
• Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour shift (excluding breaks)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in advanced probe technologies and designs
• Experience working in a high volume foundry
