Salary is negotiable based on qualifications. This employee assists with complex installation, troubleshooting and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), and associated equipment. Equipment typically consists of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), flow meters, level indicators, as well as water and wastewater treatment analytical instrumentation.

Examples Of Essential Duties:

Upload and download programs to diagnose fault codes and help make adjustments to programs; use of various test equipment such as Fluke multi-meters to troubleshoot and repair all electronic, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation equipment, which includes transformers, capacitors, diodes, motor control centers, relays and communications equipment; also conducts preventive maintenance to include calibration, adjustments, and test on all instrumentation equipment. Communicates with operations & maintenance personnel to complete tasks and assignments; work involves potential exposure to toxic chemicals and micro-organisms; working at elevated locations as well as in underground vaults.

Typical Qualifications:

At least one (1) year of vocational training in electronics, familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens etc,.) and some knowledge of SCADA systems is required and have at least three (3) years of industrial electronics experience or water/wastewater instrumentation experience which includes two (2) years of progressive responsibilities of installation, trouble shooting and repair. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job will be considered.
