Process Development Engineer
Hutchinson Technology Incorporated (HTI) has positions available at both the Eau Claire, WI facility and the Hutchinson, MN facility.
HTI is a key worldwide supplier of suspension assemblies for hard disk drives. We design and manufacture suspensions for all disk drive applications from computers to consumer electronics. Suspension assemblies precisely position the recording head above the disk and provide electrical connection from the recording head to the disk drive’s circuitry.
The Component Material & Process Development Engineering (CMPD) group is responsible for process development, yield improvement and cost reduction processes to support the flexure manufacturing process. New engineers will work to gain fundamental understanding of the various high volume manufacturing processes commonly used in flexible circuit manufacturing. These include:
Engineers are expected to leverage their education and experience to solve technical problems.
As a team contributor, the engineer will be expected to contribute to all aspects of solving technical problems: from planning experiments to analyzing results with sound statistical methods.
To be successful, the individual will need to possess a desire to learn many new technology areas and analysis techniques.
Beyond technical abilities, the position requires the ability to thrive in a team environment, strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and scientific curiosity.
B.S. or Masters degree in Material Science or Chemical Engineering
