This exciting work will include supporting the development of fiber laser systems that are field deployable in military and commercial environments. The Process Engineer will work in between both development and production. The engineer will perform functions to design, develop, and optimize fabrication processes for optical systems that include fiber lasers, Optical parametric oscillators (OPO's), semiconductor lasers, diode pumped solid state lasers, fiber-laser-based lasers etc. The engineer will evaluate potential new fabrication and production equipment for effectiveness and relevance. The engineer will actively participate in engineering design reviews, first article build reviews, review of assembly and test defect data, answer Corrective Action Requests, etc. to assure technical objectives are met. The engineer will also drive continuous process improvement through utilization of Lean/Six Sigma techniques, current Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred.

Experienced Process Engineer with experience in laser / optical manufacturing processes. Familiarity with fiber handling, fiber optic splicing, and optical manufacturing systems. Strong organization skills are required. Strong verbal & written communications skills are required. Ability to work both in both a development and production environment.
Experience testing and measuring lasers and laser systems a plus.
