AEM - Bishop

Purpose and Summary of the Position:

Provides process engineering technical support to production units, environmental activities and plant projects to improve unit operations, process safety and environmental performance. Additionally:
  • Designs improvements to production capacity, efficiency, process safety and environmental performance including complex designs
  • Provide process support to Plant Engineering activities, usually involving preparation of major Appropriation Requests or execution of detailed engineering of projects
  • Works with support teams to monitor unit operations, correct problems and assist in improvements, usually for special problems or projects
  • Provides process support to Environmental activities
  • Participates in Process Safety Review
  • Communicates and documents process engineering activities in unit support, design, plant engineering, environmental and process safety support activities with little or no review required
  • Provides guidance to other process engineers in general engineering principles and design practices

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Candidates must have a BS degree in Chemical Engineering with 3 to 6 years of directly related industrial experience
  • Strong technical, quantitative analysis and process orientation skills
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis concepts
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in an effective manner with a high degree of teamwork and cooperation
  • Ability to Work as Self Directed Individual
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to Work with Other Groups such as Construction and Operations
  • General Computer Skills such as Microsoft Office
  • Project Management Skills

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience in 6-sigma methodology
  • Experience in Standard Work processes
  • Knowledge of process design, instrumentation, process control and statistics
