Integrated Projects is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of gas processing facilities utilizing Exterran’s product lines and third party vendor supplied equipment as the basis for the scope of supply. The Process Engineer will support the conceptual development and execution of proposals and projects for Integrated Projects.
In general, the Process Engineer will be responsible in facility planning and plot plan development, work with computer process simulations using commercial packages (HYSYS®), develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), develop heat and material balances, prepare equipment data sheets, develop plant control philosophy, and process line lists. The Process Engineer shall be able to design and/or specify equipment and instrument by generating datasheets or technical packages.
Staff level Process Engineers are responsible for the mentoring of junior Process Engineers.
The Process Engineer will also provide assistance to the Integrated Projects commissioning team as required during the startup of new plants by offering technical support for the tuning of the plant.
Occasional travel to job site may be required.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
15+ years experience in the design of gas processing and treating plants or equivalent.
HYSYS®, Process Simulator experience.
A broad knowledge of ASME, API, NEC, NFPA, PIP, and OSHA terms and guidelines.
Experience in gas process and treating.
Experience with packaging or skid design.
Experience with rating and sizing heat exchangers, pressure vessels, fired heaters, fractionation towers, pumps, and compressors.
Experience with plant control systems.
Knowledge of piping and pipe schedules, flanges and fittings
Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electric motor drives and/or separable compressors is a plus
Standard requirements. Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting and reaching will all be required occasionally in this position
Sitting for long periods of time
Lifting 10 pounds maximum with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
May be required to work at heights of up to 25 feet
Must meet all OSHA regulations and must wear all required PPE when in the shop environment.
