A leading medical technology/device company is searching for a Chemical Engineer to work within the Glucose Sensor Manufacturing Automation Group. The qualified candidate will develop chemical processes for the manufacturing of a new product line that will combine 2 different glucose sensing technologies under one shell to ultimately produce a more reliable and accurate device.
Analyze data, prepare reports and deliver presentations on experimental progress. Take ownership of data gathering, mining, analysis and reporting needs. Assess feasibility of new processes through comparative analysis and good judgment.
Develop specifications, for equipment and occassionally work with vendors and suppliers to ensure that specifications are met.
Design and work with fluid delivery systems, fiber-optics, and adhesives.
Prepare and execute machine and process validations. (IQ, OQ, PQ).
Independently plan and execute experiments. Perform thorough process characterization through use of appropriate tools such as DOE
Prepare and present comprehensive data reviews
Experience in process and / or design validation
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
Experience in conducting statistical analysis
Experience with writing and executing validation documents (IQ, OQ, PQ) and designs of experiments (D.O.E).
Be able to review, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, scientific procedures and regulatory guidelines
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2-4
? Experience in small volume filling processes and automated high throughput manufacturing process development
? Knowledge and / or experience in optical fiber based biochemical sensing applications.

Must be able to work within a Class 1000 - Class 10000 clean room environment.
Must be able to examine subassemblies and work-in progress using a microscope operating at up to 100 x magnification.
Must be able to work in environments such as chemical lab with the appropriate protective equipment or in a machine shop where noise can be on the moderate side.
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
