SUMMARY

Plans, develops, and coordinates manufacturing processes in Final Assembly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Strong communication and motivational skills (justification, conceptualization, and presentation related).

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.

Strong training and technology transfer abilities.

Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Confers with product development, QA, and manufacturing concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

Leads cross-functional efforts on process studies, equipment qualification, and process validations.

Confers with vendors to determine products specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Employee must speak English proficiently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or boards of directors. Ability to communicate and interpret design concepts via sketches, blueprints, and electronic media (CAD files).

Mathematical Skills Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel), Presentation software (PowerPoint), Internet and Email software (Microsoft Outlook/Microsoft Internet Explorer), Word Processing software (Microsoft Word), and Design software (AutoCAD).

In general, the employee has to work in a general office area, but occasionally must be able to work in a production area and a tool shop possibly requiring eye and hearing protection.
