Provide technical leadership through the implementation and administration of facility wide quality and continuous improvement programs. Monitor production and support OEE, energy efficiency, and labor productivity. Focus on top 2 to 3 impact areas quarterly to help the site meet its productivity, safety and cost objectives. Improve labor and equipment productivity by leading Kaizen events, improving utilization and balancing tasks while reengineering the process.
Develop, deploy and maintain the plant’s quality and continuous improvement systems
Lead root cause problem solving process, once the issue/opportunity has been identified, to ascertain the best solution/improvement for the site
Develop and implement solutions based on Lean Production system design and transformation principles, tools and techniques
Help establish good inventory practices for all MRO supplies, tools, spare parts, and outside services. Responsible for achieving MRO inventory reduction targets
Run Kaizen events to achieve step change improvement in production line efficiency through improved uptime %, reduction of waste, set-up, line speeds, and overall quality complaints.
Regularly collect, analyze, summarize report process quality information to all levels in the organization
Identify, recommend, acquire, and coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance and calibration of testing equipment
Support cost reduction & process improvement projects
Coordinate and champion the plant in obtaining and sustaining certifications, as well as other external customer service certifications and inspections
Provide analytical support & coordinate the efforts involved in resolving quality issues in regards to product failure and/or returns
Act as a plant point of contact in regards to product quality for the customer, customer service and sales
May require some travel to customer site (s)
Education: BA/BS degree in engineering discipline
Experience/Requirements: Requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in engineering field; Must have manufacturing & lean experience
Process engineer role will be to lead and develop quality control and continuous improvement metrics.
Working Conditions: Ability to work in a manufacturing and office environment; some traveling may be required; sbility to lift up to 40 lbs.; may be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties; must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials; must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts
