Applies basic and some advanced technical skills and knowledge to operate process ovens to produce parts and components for operational aircraft applications. Perform any of the detailed work operations required to be completed in these areas.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Performs the required preparation, setup and operation of computer controlled process ovens that are varied and moderately complex to complex in scope to produce parts and components for aircraft applications. The level of work requires experience and sound judgment.
Reviews work orders, planning work instructions, operations manuals and other documentation to define the required procedure for attaching instrumentation to the workpiece.
Assembles thermocouple wires and vacuum lines and attach to the workpiece as prescribed in the work instructions.
Loads the process oven or autoclave manually using loading racks or by use of powered lift devices and checks thermocouples or vacuum lines for proper installation.
Secures door, initiates the operational sequence manually or by initiating the automatic controls to adjust oven times, temperature, and pressure for autoclave operations.
Monitors oven operations, records time and temperature setting, monitors vacuum levels, and gauge readings per specifications. Removes parts after specified time.
Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
PROCESS OVEN OPERATOR
Formal Education, Training and Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. High School diploma and two (2) to four (4) or more years experience in annealing, curing and bonding of metallic and nonmetallic parts for aircraft applications, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of the approved Company training course for process oven operations will meet the experience requirements for this job.

Works under general supervision. Work is reviewed for completion to quality standards and schedule requirements. May adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs with approval from management.
Special Skills, Licenses or Job Requirements:
Demonstrate competency in applying the following in performing normal job duties.
Read manufacturer’s specifications, overhaul manuals, or other required materials. Experience in safely operating a forklift and using a variety of standard hand and power tools.
Special Training and Behavioral Competencies:
• Safety training as required by OSHA.
• Complete the required NORDAM University training for all Stakeholders.

• Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Overtime is a requirement of the job. Must be able to work in excess of eight hours per day and five days per week.
