Moog Aircraft Group in Torrance is looking for a Process Quality Engineer. As the Process Quality Engineer, you will develop process studies on key components requested by Manufacturing, Engineering or Quality Assurance disciplines or as the result of problem solving efforts. These process studies will require a high degree of proficiency in the use of statistical quality control techniques. The results of these studies will be used to refine the manufacturing process and / or effect changes in the designs (tolerances) or machined parts. The assessment and implementation for the use of statistical quality control in the A&T production areas may be a responsibility of the incumbent.
As a second accountability you may will also be called on to support design engineering activities. The emphasis will be on assuring parts can be manufactured, features can be properly inspected, and drawing call-outs are producible based on existing process capabilities. To meet this accountability, you will lead design teams in applying statistical tolerance design techniques for tolerance selection for both individual components and assembly output tolerances using Monte Carlo analysis. You will also be responsible for developing training materials and performing statistically based training for a variety of the statistical techniques cited above.
· Bachlors of Science degree in a technical field relative to the manufacturing environment and engineering plus a minumum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing discipline. (Aerospace industry is preferred).
· Masters Degree in Statistics or Applied Statistics is preferred.
