This position is in Eastman's Corporate, Health, Safety, Environment and Security organization and provides process safety expertise and support to Eastman manufacturing sites and operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Improve process safety performance and reduce corporate risk by facilitating Process Hazard Analyses and Layer of Protection Analyses at manufacturing sites.
Develop and update corporate Policies, Requirements and Procedures related to process safety.
Plan, develop and execute strategic safety-related continuous improvement efforts across the company.
Provide consultation to our sites to help them cost effectively resolve safety, property protection, and regulatory issues.
Represent Corporate HSES on capital projects to identify and resolve regulatory issues, analyze process and property hazards, and establish protective measures to mitigate risks to a tolerable level.
Assist plants with government interfaces related to safety and health.
Support the Corporate HSES Assessment Program by conducting assessments, supporting review of site findings and evaluation of planned corrective action.
Develop and conduct training in aspects of process safety.
Ensure the identification and sharing of best practices across sites.
Develop metrics for the measurement of process safety performance and related improvement efforts.
Make presentations regarding process safety to senior company leadership to gain their support and understanding in process safety needs.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical degree from an accredited university with experience as a Health, Safety, and/or Environmental professional in an industrial setting. A Professional Engineer License is considered a plus.
Five plus years of experience in process safety or chemical process engineering.
