Under the direction of the Business Unit Manager, the Process Technician is responsible to maintain the control of processes in injection molding. This position provides support to the execution of the production schedule including component changes, setups and startups.
Must be able to perform all duties of the Tool Builder and Molding Machine Setup employees.
The Process Technician is required to maintain control of processes for injection molding. Verify correct set-up of molds, processes and auxiliary equipment before machine start up. Establish proper molding conditions. Perform process monitoring and troubleshooting part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
Identifies and corrects problems: applies experience and knowledge in making adjustments and trains others in areas of expertise; documents changes; addresses questionable parts; and monitors and focuses on scrap reduction.
Monitor product quality on an ongoing basis. Ensures product is consistent with possible product quality and adherence to the Quality System. Verify paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at startup of job and in-process inspections.
The Process Tech is responsible for directing and monitoring the execution of the production schedule as well as performing mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule
Review work orders on the JDE system to insure the correct issuing of raw materials and operation sequence completion.
Must operate a forklift and overhead crane on a regular basis.
Must follow 5S procedures to maintain workplace efficiency.
Authorities : Contact Manager/Supervisor when product/job is out of specifications.

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Responsible for his/her quality
- Responsible for in-process inspection
- Must enter JDE data and record quality inspections
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Technical Certification preferred
Experience: 1 - 3 years with processes preferred.
Skills : Previous experience preferred; able to read and write English; basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, work with fractions; basic computer skills
Training: 3 months
Environmental Conditions: Using electrical machinery; standing 100% of the time.
NOTE: As directed by the management, this position is required to perform miscellaneous duties to insure acceptable production and quality standards; insure a safe and healthful workplace; and maintain the facility in a clean and orderly fashion.
