The Produce Route Sales Representative will serve as a front line position for DC Central Kitchen’s (DDCK) Healthy Corners program, which is a social enterprise program delivering fresh produce and healthy snack to food deserts throughout DC. This position will be the face of the program and ensure the mission of the organization is represented while out in the community. DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is a national leader in the future of hunger relief, empowering the next generation of leaders to implement innovative models for combatting hunger, developing food systems, and helping communities to help themselves.
The Produce Route Sales Representative will coordinate daily with the Outreach Coordinator. Together they will ensure orders are complete, inventory is taken, and invoices/sales are correct. This position will interact daily with store owners, customers and potentially other community members developing and maintaining one-on-one business relationships with individual retailers to enhance and drive sales.
Route Sales Representative:
Take daily inventory before and after deliveries;
Manage between 30 and 50 accounts on a weekly basis in the DC area;
Maintain displays at the stores, which includes rotating produce, maintaining freshness of items, clean displays and updating product information;
Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues sales promotion materials to customers;
Operates computerized inventory and invoicing system;
Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery;
Collects money for vendors.
Track and maintain truck inventory and funds collected;
Complete daily sales and delivery invoice for each store;
Review and complete produce orders daily;
Reconcile daily sales via credit card or check;
Complete route sheets with times, mileage, and driver identification information;
Complete a daily vehicle inspection form.
Knowledge and Skills:
Communicate daily with Outreach Coordinator to ensure proper inventory is kept to fulfill store order (s).
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nutrition and Community Outreach.

Must have strong customer service skills when dealing with staff, customers, and vendors.
High school diploma/GED and 1-3 years of combined education/work experience. (Proof of Highest degree earned will be required upon hire)
Desire to be part of a large nonprofit whose mission is to "combat hunger and create opportunity";
Valid driver's license with no more than 3 points.
Basic math and calculation skills required.
1 year of delivery driving experience with trucks up to 22 feet.
Servsafe Certified (preferred); Ability to obtain certification within 90-days of employment.
Have a good sense of direction and understanding od raodways in the greater DC Metro Area.
The ability to continuously lift a minimum of 50 lbs., walking, standing, bending for long periods. (Moderate physical activity required)
Completion of background checks,TB test, and pre-employment drug screen.
