A structured two year program designed to educate and prepare college graduates for a sales position within the Commercial Property & Casualty Division of Brown & Brown. The Producer In Training is responsible for obtaining new business as well as managing their existing accounts.
The program will teach new Producers the following:
Technical property and casualty insurance training
In depth coverage analysis and policy review
Insurance carrier marketing
Outside sales and client consultation
Business to business relationship development
Account management and customer service
Upon successful completion of the two year program, the candidate will move into the Commercial Division as a Producer where he or she will focus on large commercial accounts.
Additional opportunities for advancement within the company will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Major Purpose & Responsibilities
Develop and execute an outside sales strategy.
Produce new accounts-service and retain existing accounts.
Analyze prospects needs via their existing insurance programs.
Find opportunities to strengthen a companys risk management structure.
Prepare marketing strategy information and market to insurance carriers.
Present carrier proposals to prospect.
Negotiate premiums with insurance carrier underwriters.
Collect deposit premiums prior to binding coverage.
Oversee client loss control and analyze loss trends.
Meet with clients on a regular basis to provide required service.
Develop renewal strategy with clients 120 days before policy expiration.
Process changes in coverage directly with insurance carriers.
Refer cross selling opportunities to other departments.
Maintain production reports and attend sales meetings.
Review insurance periodicals and attend seminars for continuing education.
Develop and maintain relationship with insurance carriers and wholesalers.
