This position will provide analytical and product management/development support for Russell's Institutional product offerings. The role requires an understanding of the underlying investment strategies as well as their legal, operational, marketing and service/sales issues. This position will work closely with all other America's Institutional business disciplines as well as product development and management resources within Russell globally.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
Product Management, Development and Implementation
Support product management/development initiatives, including the preparation of product implementation plans and assist in managing the execution of the plans across multiple areas of the business (institutional, investment division, fund administration, operations, performance, sales and client service, legal, etc.) for the creation of new funds, and enhancements to existing funds.
Provide factual content for internal and external communications, fund launch programs, marketing materials, fund names, product updates, website updates, pipeline updates, etc.
Product Analysis Support
Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring Russell institutional product use by clients.
Analyze various product characteristics and new product developments in the institutional industry and within Russell globally.
Develop/maintain reporting capabilities to assess Russell product use by clients and success in the market, by utilizing various internal and external data sources and in conjunction with tools and resources available in other groups at Russell.
Recommend reporting enhancements to promote the success of Russell's products.
Support Sales and Client Service/Training
Serve as intelligence center for all products.
Assist sales and client service in the resolution of issues and strategic communication by collaboration with marketing and sales communication personnel within the various business units.
Develop internal network of contacts with each functional unit, and encourage transparency and flow of information.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing or related field required.
Product innovation and life-cycle/project management experience.
Investment industry experience.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Ability to work independently and in a high-performing team environment.
Strong and proven writing, editing and proofreading skills.
Comfort level with financial analysis and interpretation.
Understanding of the relationships between business profitability goals, fund expenses, marginal expenses, fund revenue and corporate profits.
Operational/regulatory knowledge of investment funds (mutual, separate, wrap) experience.
Experience consulting with internal clients and associates at all levels.
Understanding of investment products and competitive landscape.
