This position is responsible for providing technical and strategic support for Peregrine’s industrial product line. The Product Applications Engineer will develop product documentation, assist customers with their technical questions and recommend improvements to existing customer designs.
Responsibilities will include:
Identifying applications and products best suited to sustain competitive advantages of Peregrine’s technology.
Conducting product feasibility studies using design simulation tools such as Cadence and Matlab.
Developing technical specifications of new products based on system knowledge and industry standards
Developing block diagrams for various RF system architectures.
Assisting with product roadmap development based on system knowledge, industry standards and customer usage models.
Aligning Peregrine roadmaps with customer roadmaps by working closely with customer engineering teams
Interfacing with customers to support all design activities using Peregrine products
Reviewing and recommending improvements to existing customer designs
Collaborating with worldwide sales team on technical issues and new product applications
Performing advanced measurements in an RF laboratory at a component level
Writing application notes and/or developing reference designs
Supporting Evaluation board/kit and associated documentation.
Providing technical training to sales, field application engineers and channel partners.
Reviewing and updating datasheets for products in production.
Write advanced, preliminary and product specifications for products in development.
Attending conferences and/or supporting Marketing Communications
BSEE, MSEE is preferred
5 years related experience in one or more of the following areas: RF/mixed-signal IC design, RF/microwave board design, Antenna design, filter design and associated product development
Must be willing to travel
The following traits are highly valued:
Design experience with all RF building blocks including antennas, filters, switches, attenuators, LNA, PLLs, DVGAs, mixers, and power amplifiers.
Extensive knowledge of RF measurement techniques including S-parameters, harmonics, IP2/IP3, phase noise, and standard specific requirements
Good understanding of commercial wireless connectivity standards including 802.11, GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, 3GPP/LTE
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot customer issues on the spot
RF CMOS experience
Technical writing skills for application notes and/or customer documentation
Good presentation and public speaking skills
Strong familiarity with standard lab test equipment
Must be a self-starter, be able to work with minimal supervision and have excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
