As a member of the Professional Services team, this position plays a key role in the success of the client implementations of the MICROS-Retail product suite. The Product Consultant works closely with senior members of the services team to understand the clients business and technical requirements. This position will support clients as they install MICROS-Retail software as well as help to propose and define software solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills and a desire to learn.
Provide first level consulting and product support for clients as they install MICROS-Retail products. Investigate industry and company best practices to provide solution alternative to clients business and technical issues. Work with the client and other services team members to develop new business processes. Assist in the development of new procedures as needed. Conduct product training sessions for the customer. Gather business requirements and define scope of customizations. Communicate project issues that may impact the project’s success to the client and internal project leader. Provide remote and onsite operational support, problem determination and resolution. Author design documentation for modifications. Perform quality assurance testing and prepare test plans and delivery documentation. Manage schedule to meet revenue targets. Other duties as assigned
BS/BA or equivalent experience is required, 2+ years consulting experience in the software industry, 1-2 years’ experience leading trainings on software products. Experience in the retail industry or web commerce preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with one or more of the following: SQL, Oracle, Websphere (Commerce, MQ, Application Server), MS SQL, SOAP Messaging, XML, Java, Windows and/or Linux/Unix. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies. Up to 50% travel required While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand and may occasionally lift and/or move 20 pounds.
