The Product Design Coordinator is a creative individual focused on improving the way existing products work and look as well as producing and/or acquiring them. They work in partnership with our creative and product development teams to design, develop and manage the buying of outside product and the development of curated products
They are creative with a natural eye for shapes and colors. They understand different materials, designs, and production methods.
Communicates daily with vendors on sample status, fabric availability and other development related inquiries.
Tracks and receives all incoming and outgoing packages.
Maintains and organizes all development samples.
Organizes and maintains fabric library.
Oversee quality control for all domestic samples
Work with head designer to revise and update technical flats
Order, track and test new developments and seasonal color dips
Manage and report prototype level costing information throughout the costing process; analyze data.
Communicate BOM estimates and work with the factories to control BOM costs.
Managing the proto-type process including: ensuring that the calendar deadlines and approvals for: costing, quality evaluation, color, fabric and trims are met.
Coordinate all factory communication for the development of proto-types. Such responsibilities will include: establishing the timeline, raw material management, and approval requirements with the factory during the commercialization process.
2 + years of relevant and recent experience
Art school background preferred (Pratt, Parson's, RISD)
Working knowledge of programs such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD
Ability to create sketching, 2D and 3D modeling as well as rendering for a variety of projects.
Proven skill at problem solving and product innovation
Extreme attention to detail and the ability to establish and maintain schedules
Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job
Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
Ability to communicate effectively - verbally, visually and written
Store design experience a plus
Extremely organized and able to work in a collaborative environment
