Spectrum Ceramics, a division of API Technologies Corp., a market leader in the world of RF & Microwave Systems and Components, is looking to continue to expand our product capabilities and support the ongoing growth of our State College facility through the hiring of a Product Design Engineer for Magnetics.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include designing and developing new products and modifying and/or enhancing existing products to meet customer specifications. Provide necessary support for various projects to include the design and development of digital electronics, including VHDL for Xilinx FPGA's.
Incumbent accomplishes this by communicating with internal and external customers to identify requirements and specifications; coordinating and implementing processes with manufacturing and/or process engineering based on customer needs; maintaining and/or creating supporting documentation using company Engineering information systems tools.
Our ideal candidate is a capable self-starter with:
1. A 2 year or 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or related curriculum (EE, EET), depending on experience.
2. Capable of designing and troubleshooting Power Transformers, Current Transformers, discrete magnetic devices.
3. Background in processing of magnetic devices, ie winding, impregnation, testing
4. CAD experience a plus
