This position acts as support to the Corporate Executive Chef, by working directly with customers both internal and external, offering new innovative products to meet their needs. The Product Development Chef will work directly with cross functional teams in R&D, Sales and Processing. Additional responsibilities include; supporting sales presentations for internal and external customers by effectively communicating and interacting with the customer; manage the culinary center’s daily responsibilities (product cuttings, daily maintenance, and support of other business areas), proactively monitoring and understanding culinary trends and being able to effectively translate those into viable product concepts and sales solutions; proactively partner with research and development team on ideation and development of new products and menu ideas.

Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years in restaurant experience.

3 years of technical food experience in product development or R&D, or in a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of recipe and formula development.

Strong culinary ability, with working knowledge of kitchens in all facets of the foodservice and QSR industries.

Additional training in related areas: food science, microbiology, sanitation, sensory, food styling, and photography.

Ability to communicate, collaborate, and manage relationships effectively with all levels of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong networking and inter-personal skills.

Sound understanding of basic business principals.

Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Strong time management skills.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Travel up to 25% of the time is required.

Minimum qualifications require an Associate’s degree with a concentration in Culinary Arts; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Certification or certification in progress from an accredited culinary organization (e.g. American Culinary Federation, Research Chefs Association, etc.).
