DUTIES

  • Job Responsibilities include:
oProvide PD support for manufacturing related issues, changes, and new model launch.
oProvide lead support on team for development of DFMEAs, 8Ds, etc.
oComplete driveshaft teardowns and failure analysis of durability/warranty claims,
oReview and analyze part issues as reported through warranty, plant returns,
Vehicle testing and other means.
oIdentify & provide team support for cost/scrap reduction opportunities
oInterface with cross functional teams to implement design improvement actions.
oProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
oProvide customer support as required.
oCreate/Maintain program evidence books and updated as required.
oMinimal travel may be required.
oMaintain program evidence books to assure consolidation of all documents for record retention,
oWrite, maintain, and set up reviews for the end item engineering reports, DVP&R, & DFMEA.
oInitiate and document all design reviews.
oInitiate/write/process alerts, concerns, notices, test requests, design orders, procurements, and build requests.
oSign-Off final end item drawings assuring proper GD&T & SC call outs
oPlan and initiate prototype orders for component parts, assemblies, and services to support program or project requirements and timing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience required:
oAt least 5 years in Driveshaft Design
oAt least 3 years in Manufacturing
oDetailed knowledge of centerbearing, CVJ, and driveshaft design.
  • Skills required:
oCad experience required
oUnderstand gage requirements
oCompetent in GD&T
oGood organizational skills

  • Education required:
oBachelors degree (Mechanical Engineering), Masters a plus.
