Description Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. is currently looking for a Manager of Product Development to lead our International, Food, and Ingredient Product Development initiatives within our Research and Development division in Lakeville, MA.
The Manager of Product Development will be responsible for executing the International, Food, and Ingredient product development plan and strategy aligned with domestic and internationally based marketing and technical partners. Strong influence and leadership skills are required. The manager will lead the efforts to generate new and enhanced food and beverage Products/packages/systems from ideation into production. The Manager will guide the work of the designated product development teams (internal and external) as well as carry on their own projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct, develop, and lead International, Food, and Ingredient product development team (team of 3-4) to assure successful business results. Provide hands on product development support for projects Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Quality Assurance, Business partners and Commercialization groups to define and execute projects and ensure business success Develop collaborative relationship with International R&D partners to define and execute projects sharing best practices to advance beverage/food development domestically and abroad Lead the development and execution of R&D International, Food, and Ingredient strategies. Manage the product development budget
Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Education : Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Food Science or related. 7-10+ years of R&D experience. Candidates’ product development experience should be within the global food/beverage arena.
Leadership : Results oriented individual capable of working through ambiguous situations to define a clear path for development and is resourceful and comfortable taking the lead.
People Management : Experience in managing advanced level technical personnel
Project Management : Designs, plans, and manages multiple projects in a fast paced environment to deliver value added solutions within defined time and cost parameters.
Design/Preliminary Development : Identifies and develops technically feasible prototypes that meet consumer and/or operational objectives.
Coaches and Develops Others : Fosters the professional growth of others through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback. Provides opportunities for others to increase or gain skills to improve performance.
Teamwork and Integration : Shares and achieves common goals with internal and/or external teams.
Problem Solving and Analysis : Systematically identifies, analyzes, and solves issues and problems to reach optimum solutions in a timely manner.
Technical Communication : Effectively communicates complex technical information in a clear and concise manner, in both written and verbal forms, to audiences of differing technical understanding.
Ocean Spray Business Acumen : Applies knowledge of Ocean Spray’s operations, capabilities and strategic direction with a holistic business perspective to evaluate the impacts of business decisions.
Accountability and Follow Through : Holds self and others accountable to stated goals and objectives and consistently drives the completion of projects and initiatives within stated timelines. Gains agreement on accountability to ensure buy-in and execution. Communicates desired results and accountabilities within function in a compelling manner.
