Location: Ft. Smith, AR
Compensation: $70,000 – 80,000, plus 10% Bonus

About our Client: Leading global manufacturer and bottler of premium branded distilled spirits and wines.
The Product Development Specialist position is responsible for assisting the Product Development group with projects in the areas of new product development and optimization, which will focus on customer satisfaction and ingredient processing.
Assisting in commercialization of new products and responsible for all current product maintenance.
Maintaining safe, orderly, and clean product development laboratories and workspaces that conforming to all regulatory requirements and generally accepted GMP guidelines.
Assist in the development of products that satisfy customer expectations, comply with government regulations that will be taxed at the lowest possible US Federal Excise Tax rate. Optimization of current products projects
Generate accurate formula spreadsheets, and initial product specifications for products developed, including filtration requirements
Maintain shelf-life study equipment, and conduct and report results of storage study investigations
Satisfy USA TTB sample log and reporting requirements
Commercialization of new products
Position typically works with managers and employees at all levels of the company, as well as substantial contacts with key vendors.
Requires strong knowledge of product development, regulatory guidelines, ingredient mixing and standards.
Communication will include contacts within and outside the company, including critical relationships with key vendors.
Position has accountability for research related to small batches/new materials.
Position also requires experience and exposure to multiple cultures and global team projects.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Food Science/Chemistry/Engineering; Preferred – Master’s Degree; Food Science/Chemistry.
Experience/Background: Requires minimum 1 year of experience in a similar work environment.
Required Skills/Competencies: Food/Beverage Chemistry and Analysis; Spirits Technology and Science; Microbiology, Sensory Science, ISO 9000, 22000 Knowledge, Instrument Analysis, Filtration, Strong Interpersonal/Influencing/ Problem Solving Skills.
Working Conditions: Physical/Skilled Labor: Work is performed in a general production area and/or office environment with regular demands for moving, lifting/carrying/lowering up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, and pushing. Normal visual, hearing and language acuity required for correspondence and computer usage.
Minimal travel – estimated at 5% of the time.
