Product Engineer, Saginaw, MI
Provide product design knowledge of Rack EPS and leadership for Prototype Operations Support quality and delivery of samples to Customer and Validation Labs Participate in weekly Product Development Team (PDT) Meetings Work with group members to develop prototype assembly technical requirements (i.e. build package Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Process (BOP)) Provide technical requirements for prototype component orders Coordinate supplier technical reviews Provide design troubleshooting for prototype build cells and suppliers; components Act as the interface between divisional Product Engineering (PE) and Prototype Operations Support group Manufacturing Engineering (ME) in process definition when requested Work with Customer to clarify technical requirements on orders Support Quality Assurance in assurance that components/assemblies meet technical requirements Coordinate Customer complaint responses Support supplier development activities
Knowledge of product design High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design Knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T Base level understanding of mechanical concepts Basic knowledge of automotive technology Understanding of GES system (part and engineering drawing management system) Detailed understanding of corporate standards and language Basic understanding of computer aided drafting Knowledge of grammar, spelling, & punctuation Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word) Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Basic knowledge of Steering System specific components Knowledge of Process Design Background in Lean Manufacturing and problem solving
3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
Engineering related experience Formal problem solving training Formal lean training
4 Year technical degree or equivalent experience
