Job Title: Product Engineer
Job Location: Chicago, IL
Direct or Contract: Long Term Contract
We have an immediate opening for a Product Engineer who is motivated by variety and change, and who actively enjoys new and unplanned experiences. You must show a capacity to quickly assimilate and understand the implications of new developments and be ready to respond appropriately to situations as they evolve. You will need to adapt to our customers’ expectations and have the aptitude for understanding their detailed and exact requirements. Expect to work on various programs in truck, automotive, aerospace, military and industrial equipment.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSME is preferred)
Minimum five (5) years of related experience with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
Minimum two (2) years of experience with the Navistar NPD Process.
Experience with product engineering, development and release of systems & sub-systems from development to launch including Chassis Systems, Powertrain Systems and Body Systems.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Experience with production assembly and/or manufacturing processes.
Experience with DFMEA and DVPR development and/or maintenance is preferred
Must be an effective engineer while acting within a cross-functional team
Must be able to direct, manage and interpret CAE/FEA activities
Must be able to act as liaison with the program team, CAD Designers, CAE Analysis Group, suppliers and assembly plant for all responsible parts
Must have strong communication and presentation skills
Cost reduction / value management experience strongly preferred
Must be motivated and adaptable.
