As a Product Management leader, your responsibilities will include but not limited to brainstorming product concepts and gather requirements, developing product strategies and creating their specs, and working with an enthusiastic team to execute and deliver. We are looking for people with a passion for creating great products that can help us reach our goals. FixYa is growing daily, so if you are an intelligent, ambitious, self-directed individual (who also happens to be a tech geek), we'd like to meet you. Unlike many larger companies, we'll provide you with ownership to a significant part of the business where your decision will have a direct impact to millions of users. You will also have exposure to the entire product development process from ideation to user testing and product marketing.
You have experience in one or many of the following areas in a consumer facing internet company
Social/community related product experience (e.g. Quora, Yahoo Answers)
Large scale consumer facing product roles (e.g. Facebook, Google)
eCommerce or marketplace related roles (e.g. Amazon, eBay)
Consumer product specific (e.g. camera, cars) internet
You have a strong leadership that can work with a wide variety of personality and functional teams. You don't really need a big title to get people motivated and get moving towards the path you have identified. You also know how to do the leadership dance, balancing when itג€™s appropriate to take initiative and when to back off a little.
You should have a bias towards action and numbers. When in doubt, you look for numbers to inform your decision-making. You are comfortable in making decisions in an ambiguous environment and support it with reasonable assumptions, preferably with numbers. You rather go act than staying put, yes we do prefer you to go out and make a decision than doing nothing and playing it safe.
You should have a strong intellectual curiosity. You should be very keen to developments in your field and continue to learn more about it. We found that the greatest candidate not only is very aware of the job they do day in and day out, they also have a perspective about various other sectors and functions.
You should have at least 7+ years of solid product management experience. You will be directly reporting to the VP of Product. This role is intentionally a little vague. Depending on the candidate, the scope of ownership will vary. As the business continue to grow, this role will involve direct reports that you own and manage over time.
A college degree is required. MBA's and other advanced degrees are helpful but not required. We prefer someone technical in roots, a CS or engineer in nature but with significant business exposures.
