Become.com is building the next generation of online comparison shopping, integrating cutting edge vertical web search capability with product comparison shopping. We are looking for a Contract to Hire Junior Product Manager for an initial 3 month term. The Junior Product Manager contractor will assist the Sr. Product Manager with necessary Product Management duties, which may include, but are not excluded to, preparing cost benefit analysis, analyzing metrics, proposing improvements to current functionality.
The perfect candidate is a strategic thinker who is both extremely analytical and a great problem solver. Experience in web search, comparison shopping engines, and web UI are desirable; passion for internet search and shopping is a must. The Junior Product Manager will work closely with Product Management, as well as the Marketing, Business, and Engineering teams, to effectively monitor the entire product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Assist in Product Management duties as needed, which may include but are not limited to:
Track and analyze product performance, and assess customer feedback.
Develop a working understanding of the important aspects of Become.com’s web search and product search technologies, to facilitate optimal communication and decisions.
Translate consumer and business needs into Business Cases/MRDs/PRDs and ultimately into successful products.
Dynamically adapt to expanding roles and responsibilities in a start-up environment.
Identify optimization opportunities and new product features to maintain a leadership position for Become’s product search and comparison shopping experience.
Requirements:
BA/BS in technical or analytical discipline with strong quantitative, math skills and some programming knowledge preferred.
Prior product management experience, preferably in a web-based environment a plus.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities to all levels of the organization
