Best Doctors is a growing, global health care services company that is looking for a game changer within its newly created mobile initiatives team, part of the Strategic Initiatives division. This position is responsible for the development of the company’s first consumer mobile solution as well as responsible for the ongoing product management, new product development and management of a portfolio of consumer mobile solutions that comprises our services business.
Serving as primary product expert and evangelist, you will work with business leaders to gather requirements and factor them into the management of existing products and creation of new ones. The focus of our product extensions and expansion is heavily in the mobile and web application space. This is a break out opportunity for someone who is passionate about Mobile applications to drive the strategy for this product line. The Mobile Applications, Product Manager is charged with defining market-based opportunities for product enhancement and new product creation, managing the development process, and coordinating with external and internal organizations to define and effectively communicate direction and status of planned initiatives. This position will interface with vendors and partners on a regular basis. The successful candidate requires strong working knowledge of the healthcare industry, product development and comfortable translating product futures onto digital/mobile world. You will have excellent orientation to detail and a tremendous appreciation for team work.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead product lifecycle process for the Service product line and maintain the product development road map including: use cases, business and marketing requirements, project plans, status reports, quality assurance, training, client rollout and support
Support marketing and sales through leading the development and maintenance of various technical marketing collateral including application notes, FAQs, product notes, user guides, field training presentations, online marketing content and demos
Develop hands-on, in-depth knowledge of competitive products and maintain technical analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses
Coordinate beta testing of new products and features. Document and report problems and recommend solutions/improvements to project managers. Participate in product performance benchmarking activities.
Evaluate, prioritize and negotiate feature/schedule/cost trade-offs as product definitions are finalized.
Interface with customers, partners and development team to align the product roadmap and manage product update releases.
Negotiation skills will be highly leveraged in driving to consensus on product scope, definition, development and implementation activities.
Ensure that our large web-based applications and advisory services translate appropriately into the mobile world.
Must have the ability to effectively influence internal team members through consensus building and ability to get results through others.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Strong initiative and the ability to drive and oversee the development projects to completion with limited supervision.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A./B.S. in Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related area of study; advanced degree preferred
7 – 10 years experience of product management/product development experience in a high-growth environment, preferably within the US healthcare industry.
3+ years of experience out of Mobile Consulting firms or Digital Agencies a plus
Solid working knowledge of mobile devices, (smart phones and tablet)
Must have the ability and aptitude to learn the business, translate business needs into new mobile products, and perform high-level troubleshooting.
Full product development life cycle knowledge and experience is required. Should include but not be limited to successful product execution.
Strong customer research experience including product & market research, customer trials and brand extension development
Capacity for strategic thinking and business development
Self-motivated, someone who takes initiative and enjoys the challenge of problem solving.
Must have experience with cross-functional teams that include software development, sales, marketing and ops staff
Ability to effectively interface with customers and prospects
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project.
