Job Summary: Works on moderately complex marketing plans and program/product development activities associated with Demand Side Management (DSM). Responsible for documentation and the standardization of procedures for programs/products. Works with customers and internal business departments to understand needs in developing and maintaining associated programs/products.
Responsible for specific marketing plans associated with Demand Side Management (DSM). Develops marketing plans, implements plans and evaluates plans including execution, monitoring sales and revenues, budget development, margin, and regulated goals.
Creates new products by understanding customer and business needs. Creates budgets, negotiates contracts, makes recommendations to select vendors, develops the original marketing plan, and evaluates performance.
Monitors new technologies for product or service applications and keeps sales and marketing planning staff informed.
Responsible for program/product documentation and establishment of standardized procedures for program/product delivery.
Maintains strong working relationships with staff support functions in other departments, including sales, pricing, customer service, research, finance, communications, regulatory, and legal.
Utilizes strong vendor and industry relationships to enhance relationships and negotiation strategies.
Works to understand customer needs and values for use in development of new products and maintenance of existing products.
May interact with regulators on a broad range of product/program management, sales and marketing issues.
May assist in developing training sessions and conduct training.
May advise and interpret codes, rules and policies for correct application to sales and marketing initiatives.
Assists in the maintenance of customer and program applications.
All other duties as assigned.
Education or experience equivalent to a four year degree from an accredited college or university, with emphasis in sales, marketing, business development, or related area preferred.
A minimum of three years technical and/or professional experience, with experience in marketing and/or business development preferred.
Working knowledge of effective sales and marketing techniques.
Demonstrated ability to develop sales and marketing plans preferred.
Working knowledge of business development.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
