Position Summary: The Product Manager is responsible for product portfolio management, including analyzing market needs, sales requests, corporate goals, and financial performance, and ensuring alignment with short-term and long-term corporate vision. Responsibilities include ongoing review of the portfolio and managing the product lifecycle, close collaboration with Manager of Product Management to develop and execute recommendations for enhancements to or retirement of existing products and services, and delivering presentations to SBU and executive teams. The Product Manager is responsible for activities ranging from long-term product strategy to the day-to-day tactical decisions necessary to execute that vision.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Through frequent interaction with sales, communications, and competitive intelligence, identifies market risks and opportunities; supports communications in development of marketing materials, launch packages, website design/content
  • Develops strategies to improve current products and services and generate ideas on new products; develops the market requirements document and captures the requirements deemed critical for market acceptance; adapts to evolving requirements, trends, and competitive benchmarking and analysis
  • Evaluates current product offerings to maximize profitability, minimize cost, rationalize portfolio and standardize when appropriate; assists in preparation of thorough product assessments, routine product performance reports and analysis for future trends
  • Works with Finance/Actuarial to monitor financial product performance
  • Partners at a strategic and tactical level with business operations, technology and healthcare services
  • Stays abreast of industry, regulatory, and market developments to maintain corporation's product competitiveness

Required Experience Preferred Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field required
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration a plus
Preferred Experience:
  • Five (5) years product or project management experience required
  • Experience working within a wide variety of health care, financial, research, administrative and communication disciplines preferred
  • Eight (8) years experience in product development with demonstrated progression in career path preferred
  • Proven experience managing product life cycle and profitability preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to accommodate local travel. Valid drivers license and acceptable driving history required due to travel involved with this position (DMV check will be conducted to review candidate's driving record)
