The Product Manager will be responsible for maintaining acceptable profit margins and product line vitality for products within business line in accordance with business goals. Collaborate with R&D to identify and develop products based on customer needs in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop marketing plans for new and existing products, with particular emphasis on strategic market analysis, product positioning, product life cycle management, pre-launch price analysis and profitability, and product development.

Prepares long-range sales forecasts and supports the development of the annual sales plan and update for the products(s).

Travels in the field and works with the customer base to gain market knowledge and competitive intelligence. Leads market research activities to evaluate customer needs. Works with marketing/sales department to identify the potential for new products and/or product improvements and communicates these to the R&D team. Identifies and works with Leadership to provide input and validate new products.

Develops the product launch information- package includes product features and benefits, performance statistics, comparison to competitive products, market segments and targets for the products, pricing and margin expectations, scientific studies.

Responsible for managing the P&L for the product line. This includes providing direction on feature development, pricing, unit volume that will impact margins.

Responsible for demand generation to drive business growth quarter over quarter, year over year.

Manage the life cycle of the product. This means knowing when the product must be improved or discontinued in order to maintain or increase market share. S/he must make the case for investment in or change in direction of the product line based on market dynamics. Should evaluate the portfolio of products in the segment(s) and continually evaluate the effectiveness of the portfolio in achieving company business objectives.

Central communication source between R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and the Sales organization.

Must drive the overall product branding and ensure a common look and feel as it is developed.

Leads the Life Science Products and Services business team.

Qualifications : (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education, Experience, Job Skills, Equipment Skills, and Certifications)

Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences / Business. MBA is preferred

Eight plus years experience in sales or marketing within Biotechnology, Life Science, or Biopharmaceuticals industry.

Proven presentation and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence others without having direct authority.

Strong analytical and computer skills are preferable.

Classic marketing, market analysis, research experience is a plus.
