has an exciting opportunity for the right individual to fill the role of a
Product Manager Smart Plant 3D
located in Houston, TX. The Smart Plant 3D (SP3D) Product Manager drives the overall strategy for all 3D modeling, support and review tools in DOW. The Smart Plant 3D Product Manager is a role in DOW’s engineering organization and aligned to the Engineering Information Management & Tools (EIMT) discipline.
Owns, manages, and maintains the Multi Generation Plan (MGP) and value case for the SP3D suite of tools. At least annually, review the MGP with Architecture Manager and the Discipline Technology Leader.
Works with engineering Discipline Technology Leaders and Discipline Owners to ensure that the value of the tool suite is realized.
Reviews and updates the Product Information on a quarterly basis.
Creates/maintains the Support Service Level Agreement to define tool availability and performance requirements.
Validates, prioritizes, value assesses and gains discipline approval for software changes and configuration requests. All approved software and configuration change requests should be forwarded to the configuration team or software vendor as appropriate.
Develops annual budget for all product related costs.
Provides input on Maintenance cost for supporting the 3D product group
Contribute to annual IT investment planning for 3D product group
Determines future license needs and is involved in software contract negotiations.
Determines configuration costs including the development of training materials and processes.
Budgets travel to conventions, training, etc. for Discipline Product Manager, Lead Product SME, & Configuration SME.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
Piping, Civil or Electrical is preferred.
Excellent Leadership Skills
Very Good Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
Effective in Knowledge Sharing
Minimum 5 years Engineering Design experience is required.
Broad understanding of work processes applied in engineering business
In-depth understanding of the business impact of 3D tools
In-depth understanding of interrelation between 3D modeling and design engineering work processes
A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
