GE is seeking an experienced software product manager to join our software product management advisory organization. This new organization, operating out of the GE Software Center, will partner with GE businesses to define and bring to market advanced analytic software products across all industries that GE serves. You will work closely with members of the Software Architecture, Engineering and Marketing teams as well as commercial teams within GE, GE customers, and GE partners.

Essential Responsibilities
This position will partner with the Product Management Leader to define a portfolio of software product management advisory services, recruit top talent from leading software companies and within GE to scale the delivery of software as a service, services, build a pipeline of engagements, and deliver results quickly. In this role, you will:
  • Work closely with the engineering, marketing, and GE commercial teams to assess the gaps between current product line capabilities and the needs for the future along with recommendations of how best to bridge those gaps (build, buy, partner, etc.)
  • Develop and lead GE businesses through the product vision, innovation, and strategy process, including Product Roadmap and annual program reviews
  • Perform research, validation and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for existing and new products
  • Maintain close oversight of these analyses to develop and provide market requirements in response to customer needs and market opportunities
  • Research, identify and evaluate competitive products or technologies for potential acquisition or partnerships and make recommendations to senior executive team
  • Foster close relationships with key market constituents (clients, potential clients, analysts, partners, and competitors) to validate product strategies and roadmaps
  • Create and defend the business case for recommended products and initiatives, including cost / benefit estimates, market trends, competitive analysis, risk analysis, industry best practices and product development timelines
  • Understand and communicate marketing trends, competitive pressures, and other factors that may influence the product roadmaps
  • Partner with the leadership in Marketing and Engineering to define goals and success metrics that ensure a consistent pipeline of new products in strategic market segments

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business OR in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Analysis, Management, Strategy, Sales Engineering or Consulting
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience software product management or software product marketing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with customers supporting product or services sales cycles Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required

  • Established record of driving market adoption
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle development
