The Product Manager is the product team lead, responsible for managing the full product lifecycle from initial ideation to shipping digital products for a vast range of clients. The Product Manager works closely with client stakeholders to understand their vision as a trusted partner and consultant who reinforces their business goals as the team brings their vision to life. At Handsome, a Product Manager is the core of our product design and development teams.
Handsome is an interactive agency that focuses on creating digital experiences for web and mobile based products. We’re full service and root our successful approach to experience design in research and strategy and have the development chops to build and launch anything. We work with some of the most interesting and exciting startups as well as the world’s more innovative and forward thinking brands. We build products that people use. We have fun doing it.
What we’re looking for
Handsome is looking for an enthusiastic team player who can build strong client relationships while also talking shop with techies, artists and management. Leading a team of user researchers, designers and developers, the Product Manager is responsible for the quality of all deliverables and confidently marching the team toward building products that are feasible, useful and valuable. This person is organized, empathetic, professional and a charismatic communicator who can speak directly without ego.
We’re a highly collaboratively team, so you pay attention to all the details and graciously give feedback that is relevant and timely to continuously improve the team and the quality of the product. The Product Manager fully embodies the role of product owner and is expected to think through everything from analytics to user notification strategy, as if it was your own product.
You have experience in client service, preferably in an agency setting, dealing with full production mobile, web, advertising or something similarly interesting. You can explain user experience design, understand development basics or better, create a mean release plan, and construct work outlines that set Handsome and our clients up for success.
You approach each engagement with a fresh product ownership mentality. A background in startup or product ownership and entrepreneurialism is a plus.
What you’ll be doing
You lead and inspire the product team to successfully deliver client work to their vision/scope, on time and on budget. You have a keen eye for efficiency, risks and scope creep and you’re prepared to communicate change management. You serve as the final point of quality assurance before our work goes out, which means you have a keen eye for reviewing everything from wireframes to API documentation to the finished product.
You support the team with product requirements and have the final say on all features and functions. Working closely and collaboratively with research, design, tech and project management, you facilitate milestone and release planning. Expected to perform all project management on small project teams.
