Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for nearly half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are currently seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the software product and services strategic direction. The successful candidate must have knowledge and experience with product management concepts, including financial modeling, roadmaps, market and competitive analysis, lifecycle management, go to market strategies, contract negotiations, etc.. This position will provide vision, leadership and strategy as well as actively participate in the design, implementation and subsequent operations of specified product lines.

Job Responsibilities

Manage products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with technical teams to architect and deliver winning products

Responsible for developing product strategy and roadmap

Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external development and support teams (infrastructure, operations, client services, etc.)

Establish and implement processes for requirements capture, prioritizing and new product selection, collaboration with key stakeholders, tracking and managing progress, and other key processes for product development

Manage teams of cross-functional members and accepts accountability for the team to support the various phases of new product development, including continuous improvement

Analyze product and market opportunities and recommend new products, market entries, and product support based on research data and input from members of the marketing, sales, operations and engineering teams

Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs

Conduct market research on product in relation to industry competitors. Become an expert with respect to the competition by conducting market research

Perform product demos to internal and external customers

Develop documentation of existing product for use by client/sales teams

Be comfortable with data warehousing and data management techniques

Required Skills

Four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Software Marketing, Product Management or related field

Minimum of 5 years product management or software marketing experience

Minimum of 3 years experience as a Product Manager supporting either a Big Data product or software products for the CPG space

Abiltiy to provide a long term technical product direction through research, client interactions, and emerging technology knowledge, with use of roadmaps and strategy documents

Ability to engage clients through phone calls, emails, surveys, and site visits to determine confidence factors and establish directions that fit the majority of the client needs along with MSA direction

Ability to create technical, business and market documentation

Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products

Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools

Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate and facilitate technical, business and analytical discussions across all disciplines

Organized, detail-oriented person, with good time management skills

Excellent people, communication, and presentation skills

Able to work with all levels of management in an effective, proactive manner

Strong technical background
