TouchNet is seeking an experienced Product Manager to provide market-specific input to influence the direction of TouchNet’s Commerce applications. This position manages the product vision for new and existing products through all phases of the development life cycle. This includes analyzing market opportunities, understanding competitor offerings, product planning, roadmap generation and product launch. The Product Manager serves as the product expert and will work internally across all departments to communicate product direction, as well as educate team members on new features and functionality. The successful candidate will work closely with the sales and professional services teams assisting with technical discussions and performing product demonstrations for clients and prospects.

Market Analysis
  • Understand current and prospective clients’ pain points to develop solutions for their issues
  • Develop key client personas and use them to build use cases for new development
  • Research the competition, industry trends, and higher education needs through working with clients directly, attending trade shows and other research methods
Product Planning
  • Develop and articulate business use case for new products and enhancements to current product offering
  • Define product requirements and create roadmap for future development efforts
  • Meet on a regular basis with development team to keep abreast of project status
Product Promotion
  • Work with Marketing Communications team on creation of product collateral including new product release data sheets, whitepapers, demos, presentations, etc.
  • Act as the focal point and become the recognized expert for all assigned products and related issues
  • Main communication funnel between sales, marketing, customers, support and development
  • Perform product demonstrations both in person and via webinar format

Excellent Communication skills
  • Visual - able to reduce complex ideas into simple diagrams and defined requirements
  • Written - strong writing skills with the ability to create and maintain project documentation including functional specifications, interface design and marketing literature
  • Verbal - eloquent speaker with strong presentation skills
  • Interpersonal - Ability to interact with all levels of an organization both internally and externally

  • Technical expertise including hands-on experience prototyping software solutions and proven background working in a software development environment understanding general development concepts
  • Strong customer focus with experience in customer relationship management, sales, and/or product management being beneficial
  • Experience in higher education is helpful, but not necessary
  • BS/BA Degree required
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
