Software Product Manager
Location : San Ramon
Duration: 6 months CTH
Interview: phone + onsite (may video conference from Philly or Houston offices, if local to that region). May fly out of state candidates, if they are stellar.

About the Position:
The Product Manager will work on our disaster recovery software solution from initial requirements gathering, ensuring effective product delivery, training and rollout, to upgrade and end-of-life strategy. This is an individual contributor role but expected to drive execution of strategic projects in process automation.
Product Managers own their products and are responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of the vision for their products. Product Managers must possess business acumen and engineering experience in order to be able to strategize, drive and bring their product to market. Product Managers must work extensively with customers while working cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Sales in order to successfully prioritize features and develop the products that our customers need.
Create/drive product line strategies; develop business cases
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address pain points and industry trends
Translate business priorities into actionable, clearly communicated product requirements (User Stories, etc.) for product development and operations teams
Managing the product development process from inception to product delivery and launch
Research competitors’ offerings, assess competitive advantages and define what product features and functionality will be built
Work with a cross-functional team composed of operations/delivery, sales, marketing and engineering to develop and execute short-term and long-term solution strategies for product offerings in support of business goals
Engage with Customers to present our vision and solutions
Executes multiple complex projects and develop product strategies
Manage successful product launch initiatives and programs
Be an internal and external evangelist of our company's product offerings
Requirements and Preferred Requirements
Prior, hands-on experience in software product management using Agile is an essential requirement; experience in building automation related software product development.
A minimum 5 years’ experience in software product management, (or business analyst experience)
Possess the ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business & technical level
Understanding of product differentiation and competitive strategy techniques preferred Perform industry analysis on competitors, pricing, and marketplace trends.
Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills to effectively supervise projects to completion
Ability to effectively work in a team environment as well as independently
Knowledge of disaster recovery, IT infrastructure, hardware configurations, CMDB will be preferred.
Extensive domain experience in the following areas:
a) Agile software development methodology and practice (User Personas, User Stories etc.)
b) Experience with requirements gathering and documentation, feature and requirements prioritization.
c) Experience writing MRDs & PRDs.
d) Create product collaterals like wireframes/mock-ups, data sheets, user guides, training, and sales collateral.
e) Experience in conducting VOC
Strategic thinker who is able to develop a compelling software/automation vision
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to make trade-off decisions
Excellent coordination skills including the ability to effectively partner across distributed functional teams
Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
Hands on software development experience a huge plus
BA (Computer Science/Software Engineering) required, advanced degree MS/MBA a big plus Qualifications
