The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the company’s internal and outbound marketing activities at RichRelevance. You will help craft and execute the programs that support the messaging and positioning of the enRich platform. You'll develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits are crucial. In your role as a Product Marketing Manager you will be the expert in buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria, and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel. This is a strategic role, reporting to the VP of Product Marketing and working closely with product management of this business unit, as well as engineering teams, sales organizations and counterparts in the marketing organization (Marketing Communications, Creative and Field Marketing).

Primary areas of responsibility and deliverables include:
Product marketing / market analysis (~33%)
Understand key decision makers, users and influencers to inform product development, messaging, and sales/marketing approaches.

Monitor industry competitors, sales engagements, etc. to identify unmet customer needs and market opportunities to feed into product roadmap.

Partner with product management to document use cases.

Develop and maintain the product marketing content related to assigned products, including messaging platform documents, product demo scripts, web site content, architectural diagrams, competitive comparisons, and product launch campaigns (i.e. customer newsletters, etc.).

Maintain product performance metrics based on input from the Science/Analytics team. Distribute accordingly to sales/marketing for use in external activities.

Plan and coordinate external campaigns with Mar/Comm to help fuel demand for sales and address competitive threats.

Product and solution messaging (~33%)

Develop and articulate clear and compelling customer pain points, value propositions, messages, competitive differentiation, and customer success stories.

Communicate the value proposition of products through training modules that support the selling process of the {rr} platform.

Execute and own collateral to support sales efforts as it relates to product.

Working closely with the Mar/Comm team, maximize and influence coverage by industry analysts, press, and other thought leaders.

Coordinate with Mar/Comm manager to ensure web site reflects proper messaging and brand.

Working in lock step with the Head of Corporate Communications, leverage relationships with customers and key partners to develop case studies, customer webinars, and customer speaking opportunities.

Go to Market Initiatives (~33%)

Content creation. Hands-on content creation skills including authoring data sheets, solution briefs, PowerPoint's, whitepapers and blogs.

Manage cross-functional implementations to execute, measure and refine go to market plays including targeting, messaging, solution packaging, marketing campaigns and sales enablement.

Continually reinforce product excellence through training initiatives with sales team members.

Lead go to market readiness for product launches, hit key schedule milestones, measure business results, and compare to plan projections.

Demand generation – execute and support the marketing programs that drive demand for {rr} products.

Experience and Capabilities

5-7 years of experience in Product Marketing at an Enterprise Software company.

Must have demonstrated experience launching new products, developing product marketing content, and speaking at public events. Samples of written content such as datasheets, brochures, white papers or other forms of marketing assets will be requested.

The positioning you help develop will drive a variety of sales tools. In many cases, you will develop the messaging and the collateral leveraged by others. Therefore, experience in sales, developing collateral, or sales training is desirable.

The product marketing team is responsible for creating or collaborating on select, high-impact communications and collateral. These include executive blogs, high-level web pages and brochures, as well as presentations. Strong writing and presentation skills, with an emphasis on telling a clear story, are a must. You’ll need to be experienced and gifted in succinctly describing the business value of products and solutions. You should also be able to help others do the same.

Business, Marketing or Engineering undergraduate degree (MBA a plus)

Demonstrated skills in successfully marketing high tech, enterprise application products. Proven ability to add value to the sales process through marketing, sales tools, training and presentation.

Excellent communication skills: listening and understanding and a proven ability to convey complex ideas simply and clearly in written, presentation and spoken formats
