Product Marketing Manager, Risk Data Services
Platts is seeking a Product Marketing Manager who will develop the go-to-market plan for the front, mid and back office based on Platts’ leadership position in each of the regions for the Risk Data Services (RDS) commodity sector.
In addition, this position will work closely with the RDS product management team, field marketing, sales and editorial to develop the regional plans incorporating relevant research studies and customer segmentation data.
This individual will develop problem/solution scenarios and value propositions that are reflected in the campaigns, ads and collateral that s/he produces.
Develop the global RDS marketing plans to promote new and existing product solutions.
Develop/modify value propositions for each target market to be applied to the relevant products within the RDS commodity sector.
Develop Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing plan and work with the Online Marketing Manager to implement programs.
Develop the ecommerce plan for appropriate products working closely with the Online Marketing Manager.
Create the global RDS marketing plan and make adjustments as necessary for specific products or markets based on the marketing metrics and feedback from sales and the marketplace.
Attend relevant conferences where appropriate to grow his/her customer network, conduct focus groups and other activities that foster understanding of how the markets utilize and learn about Platts RDS products.
Collaborate with Field Marketing to produce problem-solution based promotional campaigns and sales collateral.
Develop strategic RDS thought leadership assets for Field Marketing use in tactical campaigns.
Formulate and manage your global RDS budget with input from the regional Field Marketers.
Work with Field Marketing to develop regional campaigns/programs that produce results consistent with the goals of that particular campaign plan by working effectively with your campaign team members. (Timely, effective, and at or under budget campaigns are essential outcomes)
Responsible for ensuring the value proposition and problem-solution statements are reflected accurately throughout the campaign based on the target audience.
Manage and implement marketing programs by working closely with your direct manager and other stakeholders.
Understand the key performance indicators (KPI’s) associated with market research (SWOTS, Competitive Intelligence, B-to-B, Readership surveys, etc) and utilize that information to build and update the marketing strategy and plans.
5 to 7 years of B-to-B marketing experience working in a product marketing role
Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing degree a plus)
Has demonstrated experience in persona-based marketing programs whereby campaigns and collateral are geared toward specific roles (i.e, front office traders, accounting, settlement, risk management, etc.).
Knowledge of the commodity trading work flow and community
Knowledge of the energy industry a plus (especially related to RDS)
Proven experience working with and managing marketing vendors
Has demonstrated experience in working with product management teams and understands how to convert their go to market strategies into marketing and sales plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrable success in developing product marketing strategies and launch plans
