Accelrys is looking for a seasoned enterprise software product marketing professional who can help drive this fast growing area of our business. This position will be accountable for the development and implementation of market research, planning, positioning, pricing, promotion and other related go to market activities. The position will focus on specific market segments applicable to materials science and engineering from concept development and research through validation and manufacturing, including formulated consumer products, food and beverages, petrochemical, agrochemicals, and specialty chemicals industries. The successful candidate will enable our worldwide sales channel by providing field sales personnel with the knowledge, strategy and materials to ensure sales effectiveness. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, leadership capabilities and an ability to manage multiple projects to completion. The ability to build relationships and work well in teams will be expected.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Developing marketing requirements to drive the software development lifecycle, identifying and prioritizing market needs, quantifying market opportunity, identifying target personas.
Working with Product Management, drive the product launch process for new software releases, including all external and internal communications.
Development of go-to-market plans that include marketing programs and demand generation, positioning, packaging and pricing of key solution areas covering a range of industries.
Developing sales tools that highlight solution positioning, providing compelling value propositions by conducting sales education seminars as well as executing market and competitive research analysis.
Working with Business Development to identify, develop and promote key partnerships and strategic alliances with organizations in the Chemicals, Materials Science and Manufacturing sectors.
Leveraging available resources, both internal and external, to facilitate knowledge transfer of industry information to internal constituencies.
Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum of two years working in a product marketing or industry marketing capacity within an enterprise software environment whose business is focused on Materials Science & Engineering (formulated consumer products, food and beverages, petrochemical, agrochemicals, and specialty chemicals) customers.
Familiarity with product marketing & product management methods and processes such as Pragmatic Marketing is a strong plus.
Strong knowledge of relevant market segments, with an understanding of workflows and operational challenges related to materials science and engineering.
Bachelor’s Degree in a science or engineering discipline is required; advanced technical degree or MBA a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team orientation.
