Product Test Manager
Product Test manager for the Virtual Development Unit, a business unit within HPSD (HP Storage Division) The VDU Quality Processes and Test team is growing and we need help moving to the next level. As an expanding team inside HP we have significant opportunities to increase our revenue and market share and with that comes more management demands as well as the challenge to do better testing, more efficiently.
As a manager in a high performing group you will have a good balance of technology and management skills. Your group will be responsible for planning testing of a storage product, from feature to release and for driving execution of release testing in a customer focused environment, including servers, SAN components, storage and applications so you should be have a broad knowledge of technology around storage. The job will include an emphasis on addressing gaps and overlaps in our test suite as well as ramping our test automation capabilities while continuing to meet committed program schedules with the highest quality.
You'll understand enough of the details to help your team solve complex problems while keeping an eye on the bigger picture. You must have real life experience with storage testing, test automation, software metrics and the product lifecycle.
Test Program Management- you will be responsible for driving Product Test within committed test schedules while maintaining the high quality required for storage products.
You will develop metrics and processes to measure performance and work closely with the Engineering teams to look for improvements.
You will be involved in the day to day planning and tracking of engineers’ activities and in helping facilitate problem solving in the context of a larger program.
People management - You will be responsible for performance reviews, career development and one on one coaching. You'll be a hands-on manager who interacts with your team on a daily basis.
Minimum of 8 years working in technology with at least 2 years of experience as a Software Manager or Technical Lead
Minimum 4 years managing test projects for Storage Products.
Experience running projects where you have either implemented or used test automation to achieve a measurable positive impact on your organizations product deliverables.
Education and Experience Required:
Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Masters degree preferred. Eight plus years minimum of related experience with two plus years management experience.
