Operates and maintains mechanical equipment such as air compressors, variable frequency drives, motors, blowers and forklifts to initiate and maintain industrial processes by performing the following duties.

It is imperative that all interaction with Imerys Perlite USA employees be conducted with professional, courteous and respectful dialogue.
Follows written and verbal instructions to assist Shift Supervisor in all aspects of daily shift operations.
Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work area
Complies with company policies and safety regulations.
Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
Records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, bag weight, and number of units produced.
Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shutdown/Fire up equipment.
Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
Assists in maintenance of equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, cleaning/replacing air filters, gaskets, valves, and gauges or other components.
Oils and lubricates equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
