Under general supervision the Suddenlink Production Assistant assists the production supervisor in creating and producing commercial productions.


  • Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values
  • Assists in editing commercials to improve and refine elements so the finished product conforms to specific quality standards and time requirements
  • Maintains and adheres to predetermined production cost constraints
  • Assists in the production of multiple commercials weekly under time constraints
  • Assisting planning, organizing, instructing crew and talent, selecting camera shots, implementing proper lighting patterns and audio/mic techniques, coordinating and scheduling pre- and post-production with appropriate personnel
  • Assists in set-up lighting, camera operation, floor direction and audio engineering
  • May serve as production talent as needed
  • Performs minor maintenance on edit suite equipment as well as field gear as required
  • Assists in providing aesthetic designs and backdrops during field shoots by using existing materials or selecting external artist
  • Assists account executives in organizing, scheduling and completing pre- and post-production meetings, script writing, coordinating voice over talent, lighting, video taping, computer graphics, editing and dubbing
  • Functions as playback operator and/or encoder to assist in commercial insertion as necessary Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ability to read, write and communicate orally
  • Near vision acuity required for extensive use of PC, calculator and reference materials
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands and fingers to use a PC keyboard calculator, fax and other standard office machines
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred Proficiency with Windows-based computer
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to operate equipment used in producing, directing, editing, and lighting for commercial productions
  • Creativity demonstrated by an audition reel of prior commercial production projects
  • Excellent writing skills Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interface with co-workers and diverse community members
  • Understanding of requirements needed for studio and field (EFP and MPU), production in order to assist in the production of commercials in the studio or on location
  • A working knowledge of composition and pictorial continuity to compliment equipment skills in creating the visual imagery of commercial production (i.e., know how to compose and construct video segments to convey a message or tell a story
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and duress to complete work assignments under time constraints and otherwise adverse conditions encountered during routine commercial productions

  • Related experience required Prior experience (at an advertising agency or related organization), creating effective, sales oriented commercials preferred
