Prepares, formats, and copyedits a wide variety of internal and external deliverables
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
•Prepares, formats, and copyedits proposals, protocols, reports, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations
oPreparation of documents/presentations may include the gathering and organization of materials.
oFormatting of documents/presentations involves molding the content to adhere to company guidelines, templates, and styles, and requires a consistent attention to detail.
oCopyediting of documents/presentations involves critically reading the text not only for typos, but for sentence flow and structure, and for readability.
•Prepares, formats, and copyedits manuscripts for submission to scientific journals according to specified journal requirements.
•Prepares, formats, and copyedits scientific posters using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint for presentation at scientific meetings
Computer programming or software skills required for position
•Expert-level skill in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, (required)
•Familiarity with Adobe InDesign (helpful but not required)
Specific skills or knowledge required for the position
Production assistant must have experience copyediting and working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Production assistant must also be able to create graphs from raw data, work independently and effectively within the Microsoft applications, and demonstrate a keen eye for detail. Production assistant must also demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) and two years of editorial experience
