You’re fairly certain that Madeleine Vionnet is sitting on some obscure branch of your family tree. Or maybe Christian Dior. Or Elsa Schiaparelli. Because really, how else could you have such a fantastic eye for color, fabric, construction, and garment quality? Well, we don’t care what your genealogy is; if you have experience in women’s apparel production and are an expert at multitasking, negotiating, and coordinating, we want to talk...you might be just the Production Associate we’re looking for to help build out our private label brands!
Responsibilities:
Sleuth out and source appropriate materials and trims for development and production, making sure to optimize revenue and profitability
Kick off and keep an eye on development and production to ensure styles are sampled and manufactured within the projected timeline
Work hand-in-hand with our head of private label to make process suggestions, identify interesting opportunities, and find ways to improve product and lower costs
Define and implement quality control standards in production (fit, size consistency, and garment construction)
Requirements:
3+ years experience in women’s apparel production and development
Knock-our-socks-off knowledge of apparel construction, material properties, and manufacturing
Knows the ropes of materials procurement
Plugged into an established network of fabric & trim suppliers
Frighteningly good project management and organizational skills
Mastery of multitasking
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
Self-starter personality; driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency
Impressive negotiation skills
Nice to haves:
Degree in apparel design
