DuPont Pioneer is seeking a Production Coordinator to lead and coordinate the activities of Plant Operations Technicians in multiple production areas on a single shift personally or through shift process leaders to ensure that the goals set by Production Supervisors are accomplished. Regularly and effectively communicates important information to team members and to Production Supervisors. Facilitates communication between team members and Production Supervisors. Monitors daily plant activities and allocates resources to ensure time, quality, people treatment and safety commitments are met. Duties/Responsibilities Leadership/Supervision:
Provide performance feedback and performance management recommendations to Production Supervisor. Asist employees and Production Supervisor in the development of performance plans. Review production schedules. Allocate and schedule team members to complete schedules. Assist in hiring temporary or part-time labor.
Encourage team participation and involvement. Ensure employees are properly trained on job duties and equipment as assigned. Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, performance, product quality, methods, working conditions, and efficiencies. Provide regular coaching and feedback to include daily on-the-job coaching, performance feedback and development plan coaching. Analyze and resolve problems or assist workers in resolving problems
Risk Management: Attend safety meetings and complete required safety training. Ensure others complete required training and enforce safety regulations in assigned area(s). Manage risks during performance of job duties. Recommend and implement safety and operational improvements.
General Plant Operations tasks:
Ensure that the cleanliness and orderliness of the workplace is maintained by setting standards and ensuring adherence to those standards. Oversee receiving, conditioning, bagging, and warehousing operations. Monitor product quality and ensure activities meet the requirements of the Quality Plan. Help manage bulk and bagged seed inventories. Assist with product movement activities. Schedule and monitor repairs and routine maintenance of equipment, buildings, and grounds. Ensure availability of equipment and materials. Provide input and assistance to supervisor when planning capital and operational budgets. Provide input for workforce planning and development, scheduling, and development of annual business plan. Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports (e.g. ISO9000 and inventory records). May work on special projects.
Teamwork & Communications tasks/accountabilities:
Develop and maintain good communication and rapport with plant personnel. Effectively communicate important information such as performance against daily milestones at daily meetings with team members and daily meetings with other shift supervisors. Ensure that shift process leaders effectively communicate to employees working in their process areas. Provide Production Supervisors with accurate and timely information regarding employees and operational issues. Address conflict in a direct and constructive manner.
Work with other leaders to coordinate workflow and coordinate allocation of resources between
shifts and departments.Participate in location meetings. Serve on both plant and other Pioneer teams as assigned.
Conduct personal and professional development:
Train for cross-functional job duties. Stay abreast of technology and plant leader concepts and methods. Establish and pursue development goals. Provide coaching and assistance to others on their learning plans. Education and Experience Two year technical diploma/degree or equivalent required. Two - four (2-4) years on-the-job or related agricultural experience required that includes supervisory experience across multiple production processes. Experience may be substituted for formal secondary education. Competencies Finger dexterity for using keyboard. Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas. Standing/sitting for extended periods. Operating machinery, motor vehicles such as trucks and/or forklifts. Repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting (minimal requirement 60 lbs.) Ability and willingness to work in a variety of conditions (plant, warehouse – hot, cold, dust, pollen, etc.). May be required to work on multiple shifts. Overtime hours including weekend work required during seasonal peaks. Ability to manage work processes, balance workload, train & motivate employees are key for this role.
